Why it's Not Just a Moody Teenager

     There is a difference between the emotional ups and downs of "just being a teenager" and having an actual mental disorder. Mental disorders among teens are becoming more common place and are being brushed off, but in reality more teens are clinically depressed than ever.
     According to a recent British government report, anxiety in teenagers is reaching a record breaking high. Doctors haven't figured out the exact cause yet.  But scientists believe social media, school, and high expectations ingrained from their parents can all be linked to high stress.
     It is crucial to recognize the signs of depression and to seek out help. We'll take a closer look at those and what help is available here at West High in our next news magazine.
