“We did a lot of work to get things ready of this Wednesday, unfortunately it looks like we will be experience some rocky weather. So we’re having to make a change,” said Hudson
Here’s what needs to be known…
· The senior showcase will not be rescheduled due to the lack of time left within this school year.
· As for the awards ceremony, it will be taking place on Friday. May 4th at 2:45pm during the Pep Assembly.
· Hudson has given permission to all parents and family that they are more than welcome to join the ceremony.
The weather is predicated to possess heavy storms, high winds, and potential tornados thus causing the cancelation. The decision was made purely with the safety of the class, staff, and the surrounding community in mind.
“We wanted to keep everyone safe. We’re a sight because we’re a FEMA shelter. Everyone knows to come to us,” said Hudson
For many staff members and seniors this news comes as a huge let down. Senior Showcase was supposed to replace the long held tradition of Convocation. Now the 2018 seniors will have neither one.
“If there was something I would’ve done differently, it would be planning it sooner in the year. I totally feel bad that we were unable to do the event. I feel like we had a really good plans, we wanted to accomplish them,” concluded Hudson.
Here is the updated plan: Senior Awards on Friday, May 4th at 2:45 in Large Gym - parents & family welcome to attendSenior Project Showcase on Monday, May 7 during AT only! Once 7th block is over, you will report directly to your Academy location ready to setup your project.
